| Harvard Law Enforcement Stress Survey | 09/08/2012 |
|
The Fraternal Order of Police, through the Safety and Technology Committee, has entered into a cooperative agreement with researchers from the Harvard Medical School's Cambridge Health Alliance. The Harvard Medical School researchers have established a survey to study and better understand the stresses associated with the law enforcement profession. The lead researcher of the project is Dr. Stefanos Kales, a renowned expert in the area of health issues facing public safety personnel.
After consulting with Dr. Kales, the Fraternal Order of Police has agreed to take part in this comprehensive survey in order to quantify the stresses associated with the various duties, ranks and responsibilities associated with law enforcement.
In order for this study to effectively reflect on the levels of stress related to the law enforcement community, the Safety and Technology Committee strongly urges that all of the 325,000 members of the Fraternal Order of Police complete this important survey. Participants in the survey will remain completely anonymous, and all information will remain strictly confidential! The entire survey should take only about 20 minutes of your time. However, the results could last a lifetime!
